i'm still recovering from the time change over the weekend. losing that hour has really thrown me off, and i'm having a hard time getting back into my groove. it could be old age setting in, but i'm blaming everything on daylight savings for now. lol! so this is a quick layout share for the day.

as seen in the february 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine. copyright creative craft groups. posted with prior permission from the publisher.

i was asked to do a layout, using themed product. where the products were obviously meant to go with the theme of the photos and the story. it was then, that i realized i don't actually own a lot of themed product. lol! but i ended up finding these pattern papers that i could tie together for the birthday theme.

these photos were from alyssa's 10th birthday party, which was at john's incredible pizza. the lighting was so bad in there, and all my pictures were really yellow. no lie, but it took me over a year to get around to editing them. i was dreading working on them that much. lol! they ended up looking ok in the end. but that's one reason i like having birthday parties at home, with lighting i have more control over. just a random fact there.

supplies:
pattern paper – ki memories (blue number, green text), basic grey (yellow number, balloons)
stickers – making memories (colored letters, black numbers), doodlebug (black letters)
ribbon – lil davis
buttons – autumn leaves

Fabulous layout! Nice clean lines with the added interest of the little semicircles. Love that look!

Love it! Makes me realize I have to catch up on birthday LO’s for the girls! Funny about the themed product–I have a lot of it that when I try to use it I find it hard to use, but feel guilty if I don’t.

Great layout Laura! I liked this one in the magazine and marked it when I got it. I’m planning on doing bday layouts soon for my kids, got a little behind. I love the balloon paper, so fun. I actually just bought that green numbered paper a few weeks ago because I liked it and thought I could use it for a math homework laoyout for the girls but I can use it for bdays too. Thanks for another great idea. I like how organized your l/o looks too. Pictures look good also. I’m very tired today since the time change takes me a few days to get use to.
