creating keepsakes has another new issue out this week. can we handle two new issues, right in a row? i know i can! scrapbooking tips & tricks: fabulous flowers, is dedicated to anything and everything related to flowers.
there are lots of ideas for using flowers on layouts of all kinds, no matter what the theme. you'll find ideas for creating your own handmade flowers using supplies in your stash, and for using premade flowers in creative ways. there are ideas for taking photos of flowers, and for scrapbooking photos of flowers. you'll have to check out the issue yourself, to see what else is in there 😉
but i will show you a peek at one of my layouts in this issue. this is a new favorite layout of mine, and i'm so glad it's finally out. i'll share more about it next week.
here's a little peek inside the issue as well.
if you're looking to purchase a copy of this issue, use code FLOWERCK for free shipping in the US on orders over $25. it's good until june 3rd.
creating keepsakes has been generous enough, to offer a free copy of this issue to one of my lucky blog readers. just leave a comment here, telling me your favorite type of flower to scrapbook with. could be your favorite color of flowers, your favorite brand of flowers, or your favorite way to make your own flowers. i'll leave the comments open until thursday night, and i will announce a winner on friday morning.

would love to win this magazine — I could use a few tips and tricks!!! My favorite flower to scrap with — well, I don’t do a lot of dimensional stuff (like prima) but like to use the flowers that are in my patterned paper — which typically are bright girly colors (I have 2 girls)that I cut out and pop dot up. I really liek the croceted flowers — have not used any yet, but plan to — they are so cute.

Lately I love using my slice to cut the flowers. I like that I can find a patter or color to match and with all the design cards there is always a type and size that will work.

i like to find florals in the clearance sections of walmart and jo-anns… they may not look that great on the stem, but take them off, layer with other florals or paper flowers, add a brad center and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind embellishment! Plus, they end up being a lot cheaper than ‘scrapbook flowers’ in pretty packaging!

Lately making my flower out of coordination papers on my LOs has been my favorite. Tearing, rolling or any other time to give it some dimension.

Thank you for another chance to win, Laura! I am scrapping photos of Hawaii lately, and I am loving hibiscus! I have photos of them, and I am cutting them out of patterned paper to accent my layouts. Luckily, so many different companies have patterned paper with tropical hibiscus prints. Thanks again!

I like layering Prima flowers – usually at least two or three when I use them, giving more interest and texture. Then I usually put a button in the center.

Well, I don’t scrapbook with flowers. Funny that you ask because today I was just thinking about scrapbook flowers and want to find a stamp that has words (think dictionary page) on it, then stamp on top of the flower. I’m sure that is not an original idea, but thought if I could find a stamp I like, I might give it a try.
Since I don’t scrap with flowers, my personal favorites in real life are the hydrangea and recently the peony!
