This weekend, we had to do a little shopping. We are headed to a wedding this coming weekend for one of Joe's cousins. Nothing like a wedding to make us realize that none of us own any nice, dressy clothes. Lol. We all live in jeans, shorts, and tshirts. Apparently we don't go places which require anything different all that often.
So in-between all of the other weekend stuff … deep cleaning the kitchen and family room, cleaning blinds (ugh), laundry, homework, umpiring, scrap work, and all 4 of us being sick … we made a few shopping trips. Yes, multiple trips to the same two stores. For various reasons.
Like one store missing taking off a security tag, and we didn't set off the alarm, which meant we didn't notice until we got home. Or me forgetting to print out a coupon for Kohl's, so we went back and bought the same stuff the next day and then I made another trip to return it all with my original receipt. Yes, I'm THAT kind of shopper.
And of course, the girls took photos in the dressing rooms. That's what you do in there, right? It's not JUST for trying on clothes. In fact, they're wearing their own actual clothes in these pics. But they do in fact take pics of things they're trying on too.
Now, check out the photo above. It made us laugh when we saw it. That's Sarah on the left and Alyssa on the right. Sarah just turned 13 years old in June, and Alyssa is going to be 16 in just a few weeks (EEK!). Ummmm. We're not sure why Sarah is so tall. Poor Alyssa is a petite thing. She says her goal in life is to reach 5 feet. Well, she's a half inch shy of 5 feet. And Sarah? Well, she's just about 5 feet, 4 inches. She's officially taller than me now. And the girls is all legs. They're crazy long!
They took these on our second trip to the same store. I was in one of the stalls, trying something on, and I heard them saying how if Sarah stood in the back, maybe she would look shorter. Maybe not. And what's the look on Sarah's face? Don't ask. She's a bit crazy. I would blame in on the cold medicine, but I found her's laying on the counter today, so she never actually took it.
Bend those long legs, scooch down, and let your big sister be the taller one for once 😉
After all of those trips, I do believe we all have something to wear next weekend. I even have "extras" which didn't make the cut in the "try it on again in the comfort of our own home" part of the decision process, and will be returned on yet another trip to the same stores. Which works out just fine, since I earned lots of Kohl's Cash that I can then use to buy us more jeans and tshirts 😉
