Hey everyone! I'm pretty sure I mentioned I had more to share this week, and I did. But then it rained most of the week and has been gloomy, and I wasn't able to photograph anything. I finally managed to get one week in my 2018 Project Life album photographed (may not be the best photos, but they'll work), so here's a look at week three.
I talked about my plans for my 2018 album in THIS post, so check that out if you haven't seen it. The weekly title cards that I'm using this year are from the Pocket Guide No.4 kit from Paislee Press.
In A Creative Bubble added a few new Recorded Journaling Cards sets (I'm linking to her newest set, but on that same page, you'll find links to the other six sets) that I didn't have, so I added those to my collection a few weeks ago. The card above is from one of the newer sets. One reason that I liked this card, to go with the photo on the left, is that I didn't have a ton to say about the photo – and this card had lots of extra fun stuff on it to fill up the rest of the space.
Never fails that even though my photos are 3×4" and my journaling cards are sized to 3×4", by the time I trim them all and start working them into pockets, there are always some that are off in size. I usually catch it, and will trim the photo/card down so it's not showing thru the backside. I missed the one above on the right, since I can see the polka dots showing. Not a huge deal, but it will bug me if I don't fix it.
I won't lie. It's harder than I thought to leave the filler cards as-is, and not add anything to them. Lol. But this was my plan, going into this year's album – and I mentioned it in an earlier post. As much as I love adding in the fun embellishments to filler cards and photos, I wanted to simplify my process this year, in hopes of keeping up with the project better.
Of course, I do realize that it's the middle of March, and I'm just now sharing week three. Lol. I actually have most of February done, as well as the last week or two in January. I just have a few more journaling cards to type up, and I should be able to photograph them all this weekend.
As far as those filler cards go, the floral one above (it's floral, right?) is quite different for me. But for whatever reason, I was drawn to it for this weekly spread. I then pulled the other two filler cards to coordinate with the floral card. It one way, I think it worked out well. But I also question how much I love it. Lol. Trying not to overthink this 😉
I also saw that there is a new set of Pocket Maps by Sara Gleason. So of course, I added it to my collection. They're layered photo templates, with fun little phrases and space for journaling. I used one above on the left. I'm working 2-3 of these into each week, and they're a great way to get extra journaling added in.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! It's been another doozy of a week here, work wise, and I'm soooooo ready for the weekend. I'll be back next week to share more 🙂
