Hey all! I've got two more completed weeks in my 2018 Project Life album to share this week, and I'm starting with week eight today. I just got my March photos a few days ago, and am looking forward to getting some more weeks checked off my list and in the album.
If you missed it, I posted HERE about the approach I'm taking to this year's album. It explains the four basic digital journaling cards that I'm incorporating into my weekly spreads. Like the one above, which is from Cathy Zielske. This specific card is set up with four on a sheet, so it's so easy to whip out four journaling cards in no time at all. Especially when I copy and paste my journaling straight from my Instagram photos 😉
While I like having a few basic journaling cards in each weekly spread, that take literally no thinking on my part, I like to have 1-2 that I can play with more. The card above is just a simple lined card, and then I can fill the space at the top with whatever I want. I should start working my physical stamps into these cards, but for the time being, I'm all about the digital.
Whether that means a digital stamp, or even a PNG file from a cut file. Which is exactly what I used on this card, as I used the "breakfast" PNG that goes with a cut file from Kerri Bradford.
One of the first things I do, once I have my photos arranged in the pocket pages, is pick the 2-3 photos that I want to use for the Pocket Maps by Sara Gleason. I look for photos that don't have a big story. Photos that only need a short sentence or two, which is all that will fit on these cards.
I mentioned in my last post that I had some 3×4" cards from the Project Life app printed in a previous photo order. And I ended up pulling all of my filler cards for weeks seven, eight, and nine straight from those cards. A lot of these particular cards don't even feel like they need anything added to them, which is nice.
It's rare if I get a photo from Sarah that isn't a Snapchat photo. I'm just grateful when she does send me some, so I take what I can get.
I'm also working one of the Recorded Journaling Cards from In A Creative Bubble into each weekly spread. She's got a great selection of these simple black and white cards to choose from, so I can always find one that fits my photo/story.
I'll be back tomorrow to share another weekly spread with you 🙂
