Hey everyone. I'm sure these all start to look the same, but I'm back to share another week in my 2018 Project Life album. We're checking out week six today, and I have three more weeks ready to share next week. I have a few layouts I need to work on this weekend, but I'm also hoping to work on my 2017 Project Life album here and there as well, as I still have some catching up to do.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week6a

I almost always stick to simple black and white digital journaling cards, but every once in a while, I work one in that has some color to it. I think I mainly did that for the one above, because I needed a bit more color on the spread – and because on this side of the spread (the page with nine 3×4's), I usually only have two full journaling cards, and I needed three here.

I believe this was a digital card from one of the older Day In The Life or Week In The Life kits from Ali Edwards. I have a ton of her digital kits, so it came from one of those.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week6b

This weekly spread had a lot of grey to it, photo wise, so I added a grey 2×2" PL card to my navy blue filler card. And a few tiny grey enamel dots to the journaling card above as well.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week6c

I'm enjoying using the Pocket Maps by Sara Gleason. I created a Word document that has each kit listed, and then all of the template options that come in each kit (like "comfort food" above). This way, I just open up the document, and with a photo in mind, I search for a phrase/word that works with the photo, and then it tells me which kit to find it in.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week6d

The weekly title cards that I'm using this year are from the Pocket Guide No.4 kit from Paislee Press. I talked a bit about how I'm using them, and how you can personalize them, HERE.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week6e

I've actually never used the term 'awesomesauce", but I was looking for an orange filler card, and this fit the story behind the photos here perfectly.

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I'll be back next week to share more 🙂

Hey all. I'm back to share another week in my 2018 Project Life album, so here's a look at week five. This week had a bit more color going on, but I finally finished it to my liking.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week5a

I found that filler card above in a stack of older Studio Calico cards, and it matched one of the photos on the row below it perfectly, so I had to use it. It was throwing off the rest of the spread for me though, until I added a black polka dotted chipboard frame and a pink chipboard flower. That helped tie it in to the other two filler cards on the second page.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week5b

Funny story. When Sarah saw the photo above, of the boys and the gate at the bottom of the stairs, she said "that makes you look like a bad daycare person". Lol. I guess because I was letting the older boy climb up so high. Believe me, there's no stopping him half the time. It drives me crazy, since every time I need to go to the bathroom, he climbs up the gate by the bathroom and leans over to wait for me. I'm constantly yelling at him to get down, since I leave the door open a crack to keep my eye on those crazy kids.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week5c

And a true story. I'm not sure why it's so hard to get Sarah to take photos. Or maybe she really does take photos, and just tells me that she doesn't. Lol. Who knows. But when she left with her two girlfriends (who she hadn't seen for a while), and told me that she wouldn't take a photo with them, I simply texted one of her friends and requested that they all take a photo for me. I'm sneaky like that ;)

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week5d

The digital journaling card above is the simpler design that I'm using each week, with the lines on it. The top is empty (actually, it has a phrase on it, but I just delete it since I just want the lines), so I usually search thru my digital stamps or even PNG files from Kerri Bradford's cut files to find a word/phrase to add up there. For this card, I used two digital stamps from Ali Edwards.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week5e

I was searching for a pink filler card to add in the pocket above, to tie in with the pink on two of the photos in the spread, and ended up with this one here. It's brighter than I was looking for, but it matched well. And any day with coffee has the potential to be awesome, right 😉

I'll be back tomorrow to share another week in my 2018 album.

  • LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4

Hey everyone! So this past weekend, I finally managed to finish up all of January and February in my 2018 Project Life album. Feels so good to be caught up. I mean, I realize that it's just about the end of March, and I have all of March to do. But since I only order my photos once a month, at the end of the month, I won't have my March photos ready to work with for another week or so.

I actually have debated printing my photos myself. Especially since I'm using some of the Pocket Maps templates each week, which means I'm printing those particular photos (with the journaling along the bottom) at home, even though I have prints from my photo order. But since the girls share photos with me, and I want to include those as well, it's just easier to do all of the photos once a month. I like getting one big order of prints, and being able to sort them out and shuffle them around – and then if needed, I can print/reprint anything else that I need.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4a

So here's a look at week four in my 2018 album. I knew that I was going to do a layout with a ton of Alyssa's photos from the Color Factory (you can see that layout HERE if you missed it), so I picked out two photos to use in my PL album. While the colorful photos from that day are super fun, I kept to the simpler photos to include here, since I didn't want bright pops of color clashing with the rest of the photos for the week.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4b

I've got this system going for most of my weeks (not all, but most), where I have three of the template cards (with the photo and journaling together) and four digital journaling cards. That usually leaves one photo without a specific spot to journal about it. Often, I'll have a screenshot of a Snapchat photo, where it has a bit of text on it, which can serve as the journaling.

But sometimes I end up with a photo that I still want to add some journaling for, or even just a few facts. I like that I'm getting three filler cards in most weeks, and didn't want to lose that third card. So I picked out a filler card that had a bit of room on the bottom to add a quick little description of the photo. I ended up adding a strip of yellow patterned paper along the center, to tie in with the yellow card on the second page.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4c

Mental note to self – take more random photos around the house. I've been slacking on photo taking lately. I can be very intentional about taking photos, and I can also search things out to photograph, just so I have something to share. But I need to get better about capturing the everyday family moments, such as sneaking a photo of Sarah and her boyfriend from behind while they were making some food.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4d

So, I know I have sort of, kind of said that I wasn't going to add much to my album this year, embellishment wise. I was thinking my album would be photos, journaling cards, and a few filler cards. Left super simple and as-is. But by week four, I realized that's not really going to work for me. In fact, I even went back and added something to week three (and if you check out my blog post for that week, you'll see I swapped out a few photos of that spread).

So my new plan is that, when needed, I may add simple embellishments to a filler card or two each week. I do not plan on adding embellishments or anything to photos this year. But I'm finding that some filler cards just need a little something to make them feel "finished". Or to tie in another color from somewhere else in the weekly spread.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4e

I don't often think to document things like TV shows, music, etc in our album. I'm not sure why not, but it just doesn't usually cross my mind. But I had to work This Is Us into my week four, and the whole crockpot story that had everyone talking at the end of that week's episode. Stupid crockpot. I found a photo of Jack, standing in the kitchen when he was cleaning up, and the crockpot was in the shot too. But since I needed a 3×4" photo, I had to crop out the crockpot. Lol.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week4f

For this journaling card, I added a digital stamp from Ali Edwards to the top of my card, and then stamped on a little red check mark. While I would think the meals I serve these kids are pretty delicious by kids standards, it's just seriously gross cleaning up after them and the messes they make eating. Lol.

I'm super excited to announce that I will be joining the Jillibean Soup 2018-2019 DesignTeam! Jillibean Soup was really my first real design team gig, back in the day. I joined their team way back in 2009, and stayed on for two years. I've taken a bit of a break from design team work over the last year and a half (I've been designing for Kerri Bradford Studio all along, of course), and Jillibean Soup just feels like the perfect fit for me to get back into things.

So excited to be joining this talented team of designers, some of whom I know well and have worked with over the years – and some new faces that I can't wait to get to know.

  • At the start of 2018, I decided to challenge myself to work at least 2-3 new recipes into our meals each week. I decided to also share those new recipes here on my blog every Monday. The following recipes made their way into our meals last week.

    Baked-parmesan-potato-wedges-5

Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges | Creme de la Crumb

Thoughts: I have a lot of french fry/potato wedge recipes pinned on my Pinterest boards, so I just randomly picked one to try the other night to serve with hamburgers. I had some russet potatoes that I wanted to use up, and all of the ingredients were things I always have on hand, which is nice. Super easy to make, which is always a plus in my book. And they were really good. I should have cooked them a bit longer, to get them a little crispier (or turned on the broiler for a few minutes at the end). But they were really tasty and the family liked them.

    FreezerBreakfastSandwiches16

Freezer Breakfast Sandwiches | Flying On Jess Fuel

Thoughts: I haven't done much breakfast prep for the last few weeks, as we had plenty of options to work with already. But I needed to re-stock the freezer with some easy to grab options, and this time, I wanted to try out some breakfast sandwiches. These are pretty straight forward, so you wouldn't really need a recipe to make them. But I always like to see how others make things, in case there's tips or tricks that I wouldn't think of. I saw on this particular recipe that she used ramekins to cook the eggs in the oven, and this worked great to get that perfect round shape to fit on the english muffins. I used a thick cut ham that Joe likes for these, along with slices of cheddar cheese.

I used this same concept to also make breakfast sandwiches with mini bagels. I didn't want to use the ramekins to cook the eggs for those, since they would have been a bit too big in size. So I cooked the eggs in a muffin tin in the oven. These ended up being a little too small in size, but they still worked well. I used sliced deli ham for the bagels, along with shredded cheddar cheese. I'm hoping the shredded cheese isn't quite as messy, once the sandwich is heated up – I mainly used it, as opposed to the sliced cheese, because I had it on hand and wanted to use it up.

I wrapped all of the sandwiches individually in saran wrap, and placed them all in freezer bags in the freezer. They'll be easy to grab and heat up in the microwave in the morning. And will hopefully keep Joe from stopping to get his favorite fast food breakfast sandwiches after work in the morning 😉

Hey everyone! I'm pretty sure I mentioned I had more to share this week, and I did. But then it rained most of the week and has been gloomy, and I wasn't able to photograph anything. I finally managed to get one week in my 2018 Project Life album photographed (may not be the best photos, but they'll work), so here's a look at week three.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3aa

I talked about my plans for my 2018 album in THIS post, so check that out if you haven't seen it. The weekly title cards that I'm using this year are from the Pocket Guide No.4 kit from Paislee Press

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3b

In A Creative Bubble added a few new Recorded Journaling Cards sets (I'm linking to her newest set, but on that same page, you'll find links to the other six sets) that I didn't have, so I added those to my collection a few weeks ago. The card above is from one of the newer sets. One reason that I liked this card, to go with the photo on the left, is that I didn't have a ton to say about the photo – and this card had lots of extra fun stuff on it to fill up the rest of the space.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3c

Never fails that even though my photos are 3×4" and my journaling cards are sized to 3×4", by the time I trim them all and start working them into pockets, there are always some that are off in size. I usually catch it, and will trim the photo/card down so it's not showing thru the backside. I missed the one above on the right, since I can see the polka dots showing. Not a huge deal, but it will bug me if I don't fix it.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3d

I won't lie. It's harder than I thought to leave the filler cards as-is, and not add anything to them. Lol. But this was my plan, going into this year's album – and I mentioned it in an earlier post. As much as I love adding in the fun embellishments to filler cards and photos, I wanted to simplify my process this year, in hopes of keeping up with the project better.

Of course, I do realize that it's the middle of March, and I'm just now sharing week three. Lol. I actually have most of February done, as well as the last week or two in January. I just have a few more journaling cards to type up, and I should be able to photograph them all this weekend.

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3e

As far as those filler cards go, the floral one above (it's floral, right?) is quite different for me. But for whatever reason, I was drawn to it for this weekly spread. I then pulled the other two filler cards to coordinate with the floral card. It one way, I think it worked out well. But I also question how much I love it. Lol. Trying not to overthink this 😉

    LauraVegas_2018ProjectLife_Week3f

I also saw that there is a new set of Pocket Maps by Sara Gleason. So of course, I added it to my collection. They're layered photo templates, with fun little phrases and space for journaling. I used one above on the left. I'm working 2-3 of these into each week, and they're a great way to get extra journaling added in.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! It's been another doozy of a week here, work wise, and I'm soooooo ready for the weekend. I'll be back next week to share more 🙂

  • LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory

Hey everyone! I took an unintentional break from blogging, but I'm back today to share a new layout that's up at Kerri Bradford Studio today. Earlier this year, my oldest daughter, Alyssa, and her boyfriend went to check out the Color Factory exhibit in San Francisco. She had shared a few photos from the day with me when I requested photos for my Project Life album, and when I commented about how all of the colorful photos had me thinking about a layout idea – she told me that she had a ton more photos in addition to the ones she had sent me.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_2

Before I knew it, I had about 60 photos from their day at the exhibit to work with! I had them all printed right along with my January photo order, so I had 3×4's of each photo starting out. But the 3×4's just weren't working the way I wanted, since I knew that I wanted to use as many photos as I could on my two page spread.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_2a

So I ended up printing all of the photos that I wanted to use as 2×3's, since there were so many great ones that I wanted to include. I started by sorting out the photos by color, and decided to arrange them in a grid-like fashion across my two page spread in rainbow order. I won't lie. This part – the arranging of the photos – took me forever.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_2b

There were a few colors, like red (2 photos) and orange (just 1 photo), that didn't have many photos – and a few colors, like yellow and aqua, that had a lot of photos to choose from. I ended up leaving a few spots open as I arranged the photos, so that I could work in a few pieces of colored cardstock, to keep the rainbow pattern going.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_2c

I used Kerri's Life Additions: Background kit to die cut small 2×3" pieces of cardstock to add to these empty spaces. I had a 6×8" paper pad from Bella Blvd's Oh My Stars collection that came to mind. The 6×8 pads came out right as I left Bella, so I've actually never used them before. What I do like about them is that they have coordinating solids on the backside of each patterned paper.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_2d

This collection made it super easy for me to get all my rainbow colors in one place. Since there was SO much going on in the photos, I went with the solid sides of the paper, rather than the tiny star pattern that was on the other side. I didn't even think about adding any other embellishments to the second page of this spread, as it had so much going on with just the photos.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1

While the second page of my two page spread was completely filled with photos and colored cardstock, the first page of the spread had a little more empty space to fill.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1a

I die cut a circle background piece from white cardstock to cover the entire page using the Background Basics kit, going with a white-on-white look, which I always love. Actually, if I'm being honest, I didn't even have to die cut that background piece. I use this circle background SO much that I always have pieces on hand. I must have used a small piece of a background at some point, because the two pieces that I had saved were the perfect size to go above and below my photos.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1b

For my title, I used Kerri's Weathered Door Alpha kit to die cut the word "factory" from my colored cardstock (I guess it's not technically cardstock, since it's the backside of patterned paper). Since "factory" has 7 letters, it was the perfect way to add all 7 colors that are represented in the photos – red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, blue, and purple. I cut the outline for each letter from black cardstock.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1c

I decided to pull out some older brads (an embellishment that I love, but don't seem to use that often anymore), and added a few coordinating brads to each letter in my title. I can tell it's been a while since I've used brads, since I didn't space my pierced holes far enough apart on the first few letters. Lol. I think I managed to cover up my accident fairly well, but if you look closely, you can see a few of the original holes.

I wanted to also include the word "color" in my title, since it's all about the Color Factory. Ever since I had to have my hard drive replaced (something I wasn't prepared for and I found out while it was out for repairs), my Silhouette software just hasn't worked the same. It's a long story, but one thing that doesn't seem to work well anymore is the search feature. It took me forever, but I finally found the perfect "color" option in Kerri's All About Fall kit. I simply cut off the "s" at the end of "colors" after die cutting it from black cardstock.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1d

After adding a few more photos to the first page, I added a few strips of black cardstock and a strip of a rainbow diagonal striped patterned paper above and below my photos and journaling.

    LauraVegas_KBS_ColorFactory_1e

I'm pretty sure this is the most colorful layout I've made in a long time! Granted, it's one of the few layouts I've made in a long time, as well. Lol. And for those of you that have said you missed my layouts, I actually have a few more that I'll be sharing soon 😉

  • Hey everyone! So, it appears I took an unintentional two week break from blogging. Oops. Lol. Well, I'm back, and I have a few things to share this week. I know I had this big goal for myself for working a few new recipes into our meals each week this year. And I was blogging about those new recipes every Monday. Sadly, I've only tried one new recipe in the last two weeks. It's been a mixture of Joe deep in umpiring high school baseball (which interrupts regular dinner planning), Sarah coming and going (and I never know if she'll be here for dinner), and I've just had a crazy few weeks with the daycare kiddos.

What I thought I would do today is share a bit about some of the breakfast food prep that I do, to make our mornings a little easier. Sarah is up and out the door early for college classes, and doesn't really eat breakfast – but likes to take a little something with her to eat on breaks. Joe works nights, but still likes to have a typical breakfast when he gets homes (and before he goes to bed). And I am up super early as well, and don't have much time to mess around before the daycare kids start coming. So having quick things ready to go has worked well for us. There's usually several options to choose from, in addition to regular things, and we'll often just add some toast or a bagel, and a banana to make a healthy breakfast.

Quick note: I don't take awesome food photos. These are just quick photos that I had taken with my phone and shared on my Instagram. Also, I'm not a great recipe writer, and I rarely measure anything, unless I'm baking – I always measure when I bake. But I think it all makes sense 😉

    Breakfast3b

First up, chocolate chip muffins. Years ago, when the girls were much younger, I used to make two batches of muffins every Sunday – chocolate chip and either blueberry or a cinnamon streusel. The girls could have them for a quick breakfast or they'd take them to school for a snack. At one point last year, Sarah wanted me to buy those small packs of mini muffins. I told her that I could make a ton more muffins for the same price, or even less, by making them myself. I bought a mini muffin pan to do just that.

Making the mini muffins takes a few extra minutes, because you're filling a lot of tiny muffin cups. And the clean up for that pan takes longer, since in a regular muffin tin, I use paper muffin cups, which makes clean up super simple. But I've found that if I make the muffins in the regular size, Sarah won't touch them. I of course will eat all of them in on time at all. Lol. So I will often make a few regular sized muffins for myself, and then a bunch of mini muffins for Sarah. I use the Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Muffin mix, and we love it.

    Breakfast1   Breakfast2

Next up, we have egg muffins. I make these two different ways – one for Joe and one for myself. For Joe's egg muffins, I base them off THIS recipe. First step is to spray the muffin tin with a cooking spray that has flour in it. This makes clean up a ton easier. I start by placing three defrosted tator tots in each muffin cup (I just stick them in the microwave for a few minutes), smashing them down with the bottom of a cup, and baking them for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. I cook up 1/2 lb of Italian sausage on the stove top. And whisk together 10 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, pepper, garlic powder, and seasoning salt. Once the tator tots are done, I knock the heat back to 350. I add some crumbled sausage into each muffin cup, and then pour my egg mixture into each cup until it's almost full. I add some grated sharp cheddar cheese to the top of each cup, and then bake them for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Once they're done, I let them cool and then store them in sandwich bags, 2 egg muffins in each bag. I store a few in the fridge and stick a few in the freezer. To heat them up, you just pop them in the microwave for about a minute or so.

When I make these for myself, I skip the tator tots. I cook up 1/2 lb of Italian sausage on the stove top. And whisk together 12 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, pepper, garlic powder, and seasoning salt. I chop up some baby spinach as well. After spraying my muffin tin with a cooking spray that has flour in it, I start by adding some crumbled sausage and chopped spinach into each cup. I then fill each cup with the egg mixture until it's almost full. I add some grated mozzarella cheese to the top of each cup, and bake them for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Once they're done, I let them cool and then store them in sandwich bags, 2 egg muffins in each bag. I store a few in the fridge and stick a few in the freezer. To heat them up, you just pop them in the microwave for about a minute or so.

    Easy-breakfast-burritos-group-jen-goode-pin

Then we have breakfast burritos. It seems that I've never taken a photo while making these, which is odd, since I make them a lot. While these are pretty self explanatory, I know that I got started on these after reading THIS recipe. The first time I made these, I cooked up a bag of hash browns for the potatoes. I simplified the process the next few times I've made them, and just cooked up some tator tots in the oven, and then roughly chopped them up after they were done cooking. I cook up an entire pound of Italian sausage, crumbling it up while cooking. Then I cook up some scrambled eggs – I think I do about a dozen eggs. At that point, I then add the sausage and tator tots in with the eggs and mix it all together.

Once everything cools, we start the assembly process. Joe will heat up the tortillas first. We don't eat these fresh, so we don't need them heated, but we do like the char on them and he seems to think they just taste better than if we skipped this step. We get the HUGE tortillas, and he heats them right on the stove top, on the grates themselves. Then I take over. I do about 3-4 at a time, laying the tortillas on the counter. I add a scoop or two of the egg/sausage/potato mixture, and then adding some grated sharp cheddar cheese to the top. I roll them up and wrap them in Saran Wrap really tight. I store them in freezer bags in the freezer, so they're ready to grab in the mornings. To heat them up, they only take a minute or two in the microwave, and they're good to go.

    Breakfast4b

And lastly, we have the breakfast bowls. This is really just another take on the ingredients that are in the egg muffins and the burritos. I cut up some red potatoes, drizzled EVOO over them and seasoned them, and then roasted them in the oven for a half hour or so. I picked up some sausage links (I don't remember what kind at the moment) and had Joe grill them on the BBQ. And then I made some scrambled eggs. I divided everything up into some containers, and then sprinkled some sharp cheddar cheese over the eggs. I just kept these in the fridge, although I'm assuming you could also freeze them (don't quote me on that) if they weren't going to be eaten within a few days.

  • At the start of 2018, I decided to challenge myself to work at least 2-3 new recipes into our meals each week. I decided to also share those new recipes here on my blog every Monday. The following recipes made their way into our meals last week.

    Instant-Pot-Beef-Pot-Roast-1-sm-600x899

Instant Pot Beef Pot Roast | The Novice Chef

Thoughts: You guys, this was amazing!!! I made this last night, and it was so good. This is an Instant Pot recipe, but it can also be made in the crock pot. And after reading on the blog post that some people had issues with it burning in the Instant Pot, and reading that one might want to just make it in the crock pot instead, I decided to go that route. I was making this on a Sunday, so for me, I wasn't in a rush or anything. I don't drink wine, so I had to borrow some tiny bottles that my brother had laying around. And I totally forgot that it called for a cup of brewed coffee, so I had to send Joe out to get me a jug of Starbucks coffee (the kind that I used to make my homemade frapps). Usually, when I make a roast in the crock pot (or stew), I always have to make a batch of gravy on the stove top. But this recipe made the best brown gravy, that was the perfect consistency and thickness. I didn't use any carrots or mushrooms, since we don't eat those. I made mashed potatoes to go with this, and the entire meal was delicious. I will definitely be making this again!

    Egg-Cheese-Waffle-Maker-Hash-Browns-9

Egg & Cheese Hash Brown Waffles | Yellow Bliss Road

Thoughts: True confession. I have never made waffles. I also asked for a waffle maker over a year ago, for my birthday or something, and have never used it. I actually wanted it for things like this. For making hashbrowns as waffles. I was making some sausages for dinner a few nights ago, and decided to give this a go. I didn't actually eat these, so I can't give my own thoughts on this. But I do think that I added a little too much of the egg/milk mixture, as I don't think I had the same amount of hash browns that the recipe called for. They didn't crisp up like I thought they would in the waffle maker. But again, this was my first time ever using it as well. Joe and Sarah ate them, and didn't complain. But I think next time I'll just do the hash browns on their own, without adding any egg or cheese to them.

Hey everyone and happy Friday! I'm soooooo glad it's Friday, as it's been a long week here with the daycare kiddos. Anyways, I'm back to share week thirty seven in my 2017 Project Life album.

I ended up with quite a bit of red in my photos for this week. It's funny how all of these photos, taken at random times and even from different people, all somehow just magically tie together. I only ended up with one filler card for this weekly spread, and I used a simple dotted red card. It came with a little tab printed on the right side, so I simply added a word sticker and used a small staple on each side of the tab.

The photo on the right was one that Sarah sent me, and I'm guessing it was a Snapchat photo. Since it had all of the hearts on it. Those weren't something that I added, in case you were wondering 😉 I added a small white tag, with where they were at the time (Strike Zone is our local bowling alley).

This photo of me rocking baby Easton in the rocking chair felt like it needed something, so I ended up adding a 4×6" overlay on top of it. I don't use them often, and I don't even have that many of them. But they're super easy to use, since I just slip them into the pocket with the photo.

I debated over which photo to pair up with a journaling card here. I recently did a 6×8" layout spread about my "reading" habits – or lack of, I should say. Lol. So I could have skipped journaling about the photo on the left. But Alyssa didn't have at ton of details about the photo on the right. It was just a photo of the A&E team in the warehouse, while doing tear-down after an event. It was easier to just copy and paste my journaling about the book from my Instagram, and add a little "#work" to Alyssa's photo.

I may have mentioned this on one of my other PL shares. But I realized that most weeks, I tend to end up with at least 8 photos that I want to use. It's a good average overall. This really only left me room for one filler card, since I like to include plenty of journaling cards in my photos. That's one reason I decided to get rid of the calendar card for this year's albums (working the dates onto my weekly title card), and made a few other small changes.

I added an enamel arrow and some alpha stickers to the photo on the left, to point out what that photo was actually about. No, it had nothing to do with the mantel above my fireplace. It was the basketball that I found randomly stuck in place, about 3-4 feet above the floor. Kids are interesting little creatures, aren't they? Lol.

I actually had no intention of saving, or even using, the photo on the right. I just snapped it super quick in the dressing room to show a friend the jeans I was trying on. And I may have been excited about the size they were. Lol. Snippets like this are great additions to the album though, so I'm glad I kept it.
