• it's tuesday, which means i'm spending my last day over at CHA, walking the floor and taking all the new products in. i'll be making my drive back home late, late tonight. in the meantime, some more sharing!

over on the bella blvd blog, we are having an inspiration unlimited week feature! actually, you know we like to make our "week" features TWO weeks long, right? so that means for the next two weeks, we will be featuring lots of CHA projects using the new collections and products. each day we will spotlight a certain collection or certain embellishment collection. today is all about the sunshine & happiness collection.

    LauraVegas_Sunshine&Happiness_SummertimeCard

this collection is a personal favorite of mine. i just love the bright colors and patterns! i knew i wanted to do something with the sun sticker, and create colorful "rays" coming out of it.

    LauraVegas_Sunshine&Happiness_SummertimeCard_detail2

i started with the sun sticker, pop dotted on a scalloped edged sticker. i used a scrap piece of tracing paper, and drew the "rays" coming out from where i was going to place the sun. i used those as my template for cutting all my papers.

    LauraVegas_Sunshine&Happiness_SummertimeCard_detail3

i won't lie. cutting those papers to fit together, and stitching along each ray took me forever. i'm sure it should have been simple to do. i tend to make things more work for myself.

    LauraVegas_Sunshine&Happiness_SummertimeCard_detail1

i also cut a few clouds out of one of the patterned papers, to stick up in my "sky" on the top of the card. tucked in a fun "summer time" flag to finish off the card.

go check out the bella blog for some great sunshine & happiness projects from a few of our designers. they all put together some amazing projects, and i'm excited to finally be sharing them on the blog. i'll see you back here for some baby girl!

  • i'm checking in from CHA today! ok, i lied. i typed up a few posts and pre-scheduled them to go up, while i'm gone 😉

over on the bella blvd blog, we are having an inspiration unlimited week feature! actually, you know we like to make our "week" features TWO weeks long, right? so that means for the next two weeks, we will be featuring lots of CHA projects using the new collections and products. each day we will spotlight a certain collection or certain embellishment collection. today is all about the baby boy collection!

    LauraVegas_BabyBoy_BabyBabyBoyCard

since i have been bombarding you with new layouts for the last two weeks, i figured i would switch it up for a few days, and share some cards. i still have more layouts to share, but i'll save those for later.

    LauraVegas_BabyBoy_BabyBabyBoyCard_detail2

i'm also making these posts short and sweet. i'm feeling a little blogged out at the moment. and i'm pretty sure my cards are self explanitory, right?

    LauraVegas_BabyBoy_BabyBabyBoyCard_detail1

go check out the bella blog for some great baby boy projects from a few of our designers. they all put together some amazing projects, and i'm excited to finally be sharing them on the blog. i'll see you back here for some sunshine & happiness!

  • did you catch the second reveal on the bella blvd blog yesterday? if not, make sure and check it out! i'm sure you have seen this next embellishment pop up on most of the layouts i've been sharing for the last 2 weeks. well, yesterday was the day we revealed the entire collection of flags!

i'm really loving these little flags! there are so many to choose from, and there's pretty much a flag for anything you need. they are so much fun to stick behind things, or tuck under things, on your projects. i really do think you're going to love these!

    FocusOnFlags_Friends_LauraVegas

i choose some patterned papers from the baby girl collection and the sunshine & happiness collection for this layout. i started by picking out a handful of flags, and then found papers with the same colors.

    FocusOnFlags_Friends_LauraVegas_detail3

i love that there are so many flags to choose from. i pulled these flags out of lots of different packages. i knew i wanted to do a border of sorts with them, so i needed quite a few. i wanted them all to look like they were tucked back behind that aqua strip of paper.

    FocusOnFlags_Friends_LauraVegas_detail1

i also choose some new chipboard elements to use. i adhered both of these hearts using pop dots.

    FocusOnFlags_Friends_LauraVegas_detail2

after machine stitching my aqua strip of pattern paper, i adhered it across the page using lots and lots of pop dots. this raised up that paper, and allowed me to randomly tuck my flags behind the strip. most of the pins aren't actually going into anything. so i simply used a glue dot on the back of each flag, and the ends of the pins just rested behind the aqua strip.

    FocusOnFlags_Friends_LauraVegas_detail4

head on over to the bella blvd blog, to see the entire flag collection reveal, piece by piece. and make sure to leave a comment over there for the giveaway, for a chance to win-it-before-you-can-buy-it!

i'm headed out tomorrow morning, to make my drive to CHA! i'm taking 20 completed projects with me, to add to the bella booth. i can't wait to see all of our designers work up close and in person. and i'll even get to meet a few of them as well. i'm looking forward to catching up with old and new scrapping friends. it's just fun to be immersed in the scrapping industry for a few days, where we all "get" each other. and i won't lie. i'm kind of glad to be getting away from this computer too. lol! there's still plenty of new stuff coming up next week. i have blog posts all scheduled for the bella blog, and my own. i'll try and check in when i can. and i'll see you all back here next week!

  • are you ready for more layouts? we have five more reveals on the bella blvd blog, and i'll have 4 brand new layouts to go along with those reveals. i shared 4 layouts last week, and 4 this week. and all 8 of those layouts were made in 2.5 days. i work good under pressure 😉

sunshine & happiness is such a fun and colorful collection. it's perfect for those summer memories: playing outside, swimming in the pool, and having picnics and eating popsicles. but it's also perfect for everyday scrapping, and the patterned papers can really be used for so many things. i think the cloud paper is my favorite. or the aqua chevron. i can't decide ;)

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas

i was actually looking for baby photos, for another layout, when i accidently came across these photos of one of my previous daycare girlies from about two years ago. check out miranda's dress. it's almost like this collection was designed around her dress! so i knew i had to use a few of her photos on my layout.

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas_detail1

see, i told you that there are so many patterned papers that can be used for anything. i can see this chevron paper, or the yellow dot paper on tons of layouts. i hand cut the sun and the cloud from the cute cuts sheet of paper. i did a little machine stitching down the center of my cloud, just to add a little interest. those other two embellishments you see here will be revealed more on thursday ;)

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas_detail5

i also hand cut the tree from the cute cuts patterned paper. i tied a little string around the trunk of the tree, and then adhered it to my layout using lots of pop dots. i added little pearl accents to the centers of the flowers on the tree.

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas_detail2

i had someone comment last week, that since i shared my little paper saving trick, they now notice it on my layouts. i thought that was kind of funny. i trimmed off a piece of a border sticker, and a border strip of paper, and overlapped them down the side of my layout. i also cut one of the longer quote stickers up, and adhered each word, one by one.

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas_detail3

the "i {heart} summer" is also from the cute cuts patterned paper. i matted it on some of the aqua chevron paper, and machine stitched around the edges. i added some of the designer tape to either side, as well as on a few of the photos. some threaded buttons and a few more pearl accents finished off the layout.

    Sunshine&Happiness_ILoveSummer_LauraVegas_detail4

  • two more days of reveals on the bella blvd blog, and then it's CHA time! i can't wait! today, we are revealing two brand new types of embellishments. that means it's a double post day on the bella blvd blog. i'll be sharing one of my layouts, along with the reveal today. and the other one tomorrow. but you can always check out the bella blog, to see the second one later today.

first up are these adorable crochet flowers. they come in four different color sets, and each set comes with four flowers. they are the cutest little things, and come with buttons threaded on, and adhesive on the backs.

    CrochetFlowers_Catalog_LauraVegas

i used lots of patterned papers from the new sunshine & happiness collection for this layout. i wanted to use a mix of flowers, in different colors. so i picked out a few of the pink, blue, and yellow crochet flowers. from there, i chose some bright and fun papers to match the flowers. i did a lot of layering with the papers, and some white cardstock, and then machine stitched everything together.

    CrochetFlowers_SheIsSoSilly_LauraVegas_detail1

i knew i wanted to line up the crochet flowers underneath my photos. i also had some fun flags picked out (hint: those just might be the second reveal today ;)), and they fit nicely, tucked into the flowers.

    CrochetFlowers_SheIsSoSilly_LauraVegas_detail3

i'm really loving the designer tapes! i'm going to be stocking up those, for sure. also, the chevron patterned papers.

    CrochetFlowers_SheIsSoSilly_LauraVegas_detail4

once again, a mix of alphabet stickers and chipboard, in different colors and sizes. it's one of my favorite ways to do titles lately.

    CrochetFlowers_SheIsSoSilly_LauraVegas_detail2

head on over to the bella blvd blog, to see the entire crochet flower reveal, piece by piece. and make sure to leave a comment over there for the giveaway, for a chance to win-it-before-you-can-buy-it!

  • i wish i had an amazingly witty intro to today's blog post. but i don't. i've been double blogging all these huge reveals, both here and on the bella blvd blog, for almost two weeks. i'm drawing blanks when it comes to my intro paragraphs lately 😉

on monday, we revealed some new patterned paper colors for the sophisticates collection, along with some new chipboard elements. well, today, it's all about the alphabet stickers. last CHA, bella blvd came out with their "quattrofina" alphabet stickers. i never really put the "quattro" part of that together, until stephanie pointed it out in one of her posts. quattro = 4, so there were 4 different sets of alphas on one sheet. well, how many do you think will be on this new style?

these are the brand new "high five" alphabet stickers. meaning, there are 5 different sets of alphas on each sheet. i really love that there is a variety of shades on each sheet. so you get the red and pink alphas together. you get orange and yellow together. you get white, grey, and black together. and the green and the blue sheet both have a few different shades of that color on them. i also love that you get different sizes and fonts together.

    SophisticatesHigh5_AwesomeLittleFamily_LauraVegas

this was the last layout i made in my 2.5 day scrapping marathon. i think i made this at around 2:00am one evening. not sure that info is important enough to point out. but i wanted to mention it anyways. i knew i was working in some of the new sophisticates patterned papers (i choose blue), some of the new chipboard elements, and a lot of the high five alphabet stickers.

    SophisticatesHigh5_AwesomeLittleFamily_LauraVegas_detail1

i used alpha stickers from three different color sheets for my title. i also used three different types/fonts/sizes of alph stickers. and i mixed in one of the new flags to take the place of the word "love".

    SophisticatesHigh5_AwesomeLittleFamily_LauraVegas_detail3

i added the cute little chipboard tree, a few clouds, and also the yellow scalloped border by the title, using pop dots. all of the chipboard pieces are self-adhesive. meaning, they come with all the sticky adhesive on the backs already. peel and stick. however, i do like to adhere most of my chipboard pieces with pop dots. i just like the extra dimension it adds. i added a few little word stickers to the clouds, and added the year with some of the high five stickers. the green dot and red dot strips are the new designer tapes.

    SophisticatesHigh5_AwesomeLittleFamily_LauraVegas_detail4

i added in some older papers from the original sophisticates collection. the "happiness" is from the tall tags patterned paper, and i just trimmed a large notch into the bottom to give it a "banner" sort of look to it. i also adhered that with pop dots.

    SophisticatesHigh5_AwesomeLittleFamily_LauraVegas_detail2

head on over to the bella blvd blog, to see the entire sophisticates high five alphabet stickers reveal, piece by piece. and make sure to leave a comment over there for the giveaway, for a chance to win-it-before-you-can-buy-it!

  • please tell me you've been visiting the bella blvd blog each day this week. and tell me you'll visit it every day next week too. we just have SOOOOO much new stuff to share with you, i don't want you to miss anything 😉

designer tapes! how incredibly awesome are these! i have to admit, up until now, i have never tried using tapes. or washi tapes, as they're often called. i have a few rolls of tapes, but have never even though to use them. when stephanie finally shared some peeks of the new products with me, this was one of the ones i was most excited about. i love the colors and the designs. they have all my favorite colors, and i can see these working on any and all of my layouts. and once i tried using them, i was hooked!

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_email

this is my "focus on tapes" layout. there's some additional new products on there, that you'll learn more about next week. but my main goal on this layout, was to show off some ways to use the tapes. i choose this photo of my girls and my friend deneen's twins, that i took almost two years ago. i love the colors in it, and knew it would work well with the tapes.

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_detail1

this doesn't show any tapes, but a fun new chipboard piece that i pop dotted of my layout. i used some colored mini safety pins to add a few miniatures stickers.

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_detail4

one of my first ideas with the tapes was to tear off pieces, and create a frame around my photo. i know this isn't a new idea or anything. but i love how it looks.

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_detail5

the tapes are so easy to use, and are forgiving too. if you change your mind or need to move or adjust the tape, you can very easily remove it, and then stick it back down. i love that, since i do tend to change my mind a lot.

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_detail2

i also added some of the blue gingham tape behind my chipboard title letters. my letters already stood out on the graph patterned paper. but i think it just adds a fun little touch, when you add that little bit of interest behind the title.

    DesignerTape_Catalog_LauraVegas_detail3

the end of the tape was also perfect for helping secure my "life is good" flag. it wasn't planned. but i thought the flag would be cute up there, was needed somewhere to tuck it in. you can't have a flag just hanging out on it's own, right? i do have adhesive on the back of the flag, but it looks as if the tape is holding it down.

  • we've had three great days of sneak peeks on the bella blvd blog so far. but we still have SO much more to show you. time for day four!

so, we revealed the baby boy collection and we revealed the baby girl collection. but what about the moments that come BEFORE the little boy or girl bundle of joy's arrival? that's where bella's next collection comes in.

we're expecting is a new mini series by bella. kind of like a mini collection. there are three double sided patterned papers, miniatures stickers, chipboard elements, and stamps. the great thing about these products, is that they coordinate perfectly with the baby boy and baby girl collections. so you can pick up a few pieces from the mini series, and mix them with the baby collection of your choice.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas

i hope you weren't expecting me to scrap photos of myself when i was pregnant. lol! not going to happen. i borrowed this photo from my local photographer friend, krista lund. she took this gorgeous photo of her friend jessica. i would give anything to have looked that amazing when i was pregnant.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail1

the pink and the blue patterned paper have the "i'm pregnant" and "mommy to be" text on one side, and the cute measuring tape on the other side.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail5

jessica was having a baby boy, so i pulled some other papers and stickers from the baby boy collection. i didn't realize it at the time i choose this photo, but it ended up going perfectly with the oranges and greys in the boy collection.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail6

the third paper in the mini series, has they yellow/white clouds on one side, and the cute little stork birds on the other side.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail2

hands down, i think this grey chevron patterned paper is my favorite out of all the new papers from bella. i've never been big on scrapping with greys. but i've been loving it a whole lot more lately. i added the chipboard "expecting" title to the bottom of the page. to help the white letters stand out a bit more, against the grey paper, i added a few strips of the yellow ……… wait, i can't tell you what it is yet. that reveal is coming up tomorrow 😉

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail3

this cute chipboard stork originally had a purple wing. that didn't quite tie in with my colors for this layout. so i took a scrap of orange patterned paper, and hand cut a wing to adhere over the purple. i adhered him with pop dots. i have used a TON of pop dots for my CHA projects.

    WereExpecting_Expecting_LauraVegas_detail4

head on over to the bella blvd blog, to see the entire we're expecting collection, piece by piece. and make sure to leave a comment over there for the giveaway, for a chance to win-it-before-you-can-buy-it!

  • did you love the first collection reveal on the bella blvd blog yesterday? are you ready for the next one? yesterday, it was all about baby boy! did you come back, in hopes of seeing some baby girl? patience, my friends. it's coming 😉 but today, it's all about a new embellishment that's joining the bella product family!

buttons!!! i love and adore buttons! it's a little embarrasing as to how many buttons i own. but you know what? i always have room for more in my collections! i love what stephanie has come up with, and i'm really excited to have buttons to go with the rest of the bella products. i think the plastic buttons are my favorites, since the're all gorgeous colors. but the wood buttons are so fun too, with cute little designs on them. and you can never go with with the mixed button cards.

    ButtonMarket_MyTwoGirls_LauraVegas

i started this layout by choosing a handful of buttons that i wanted to use, and then i pulled my colors from there. i loved the wood buttons, with the touches of red and black on them. then i added in some red and green buttons.

    ButtonMarket_MyTwoGirls_LauraVegas_detail1

i added some yellow patterned paper onto my layout, mainly because i love the mix of red, green, turqouise, browns, and yellows. i honestly didn't even notice that the checkered button had a bit of yellow in with the black. not until i was editing these photos. love the little red heart button too!

    ButtonMarket_MyTwoGirls_LauraVegas_detail2

i added the little black text button to the center of my "g" chipboard letter. it's the cutest thing, with the white text words across it.

    ButtonMarket_MyTwoGirls_LauraVegas_detail4

i threaded all my buttons, before glue dotting them onto my layout. i sprinkled them diagonally across the page, which i think helps draw your eye from the top corner, across the photos of my girls, and down to the bottom corner of the page. love how it turned out!

  • i hope you're ready for some bella blvd sneak peeks! we are starting our reveals today for the Winter CHA releases, and they will continue for a full two weeks!

this is my first time being on the other side of a design team and the CHA planning. being the one that organizes and assigns ALL of the projects needed for the show. collecting all the project images and write-ups from the design team. planning and setting up the blog (remember, i write that entire blog now, which sometimes explains my absence here ;)). helping plan the new catalog. it's completely consumed me for the last month, and we still have so much more to do.

and you know what? i'm loving it! i have been so excited for this day to come, where we can start showing off all the amazing products and collections that stephanie has designed. and to give you peeks at what the design team is doing with these great products!  sooooo. you ready for the first collection reveal 🙂

the baby boy collection is so cute and colorful! i love the mix of blues, greens, browns, yellows, and oranges. perfect boy colors. there are so many great patterns in this collection. it's perfect for babies. and yet, even if you don't have a baby boy to scrap, there are so many patterns that can be used for everyday layouts as well. that's one of the biggest things i have loved about bella blvd since they came on the scene. such versital patterns and designs, that go with anything.

    BabyBoy_Catalog_LauraVegas

the design team is hard at work, finishing up projects for the booth this week. last weekend, i got to work on a ton of layouts for the catalog, which is what we will be sharing along with our reveals. i had such fun with this baby boy collection. i found a favorite photo of zachary to scrap. look how little he is there, at only 9 months old. he just turned 2 years old a few weeks ago, and he's such a big boy now. and yes, that title says "baby zack". i guess that should have said "zach", with an H. believe me, i will have more spelling mistakes stories to go with my projects. lol!

    BabyBoy_BabyZack_LauraVegas_detail1

i just knew i had to use this chipboard monkey. i think he's so cute! and what is that he's holding in his left hand? that is one of bella's new flags! i'm super excited about these, and i just know you're going to love them.

    BabyBoy_BabyZack_LauraVegas_detail4

one of the patterned papers has these colorful circles all over it, and they are the perfect fit with a 1.5" circle punch. i punched out a few and cut them in half, to line up by the top of the layout, as well as towards the bottom. see, these patterns are perfect for so many things. i'm loving the clouds!

    BabyBoy_BabyZack_LauraVegas_detail6

    BabyBoy_BabyZack_LauraVegas_detail5

you're going to see lots of brand new embellishments to the bella blvd family, popping up on some of my layouts. rest assured, you'll find out more about these soon 😉

head on over to the bella blvd blog, to see the entire baby boy collection, piece by piece. and make sure to leave a comment over there for the giveaway, for a chance to win-it-before-you-can-buy-it!
