first up … a layout that i finally finished today. i’ve had this out all week and just wasn’t finding time or energy to finish it. i actually had the entire jar of buttons and clips emptied on my workspace all week … i never leave things out like that. lol!

i wanted to use some of the fun making memories tropical travel collection. we never travel anywhere tropical … but this photo of alyssa from a family swim day worked perfectly. i also threw in some pattern paper from the noteworthy collection … love that scalloped edge! alyssa was not too thrilled with the fact that i had written "swimsuit bikini babe" on there … but i was really drawing a blank and just wanted to get it done. lol!

in other saturday stuff:

• alyssa had an excellent soccer game today. this year she’s played more at mid-field … and she seems a little lost there since she’s played forward for 4 years now. but 2 weeks ago the coach put her in at forward … and within about 5 minutes she had scored the most awesome goal. one of those goals where she dribbled it down, past a few defenders, and put the ball right in the far corner. perfect! and today she was doing so good again. her team won 1-0 … and she scored the one goal. it was another awesome goal … just the same as the one 2 weeks ago. so proud of her!
• sarah also did good today. she scored a great goal … with some really great assistance from a few girls on her team. unfortunatley they lost like 9-1. lol! her team is having a little bit of a rougher year. a lot of young players on her team … on the lower end of the age group. and you should have seem the other team they played today … about 4 of the girls were taller than me. crazy. and the coaches (my good friend barbara and joe) are having a hard time with about half of the team … they just don’t seem to listen. like today when they were telling them what positions they were at … and within a minute they had no idea where they were supposed to be playing. lol! i said i would make some sticky labels that they could just slap on their shirts … that way if they forgot they could just look down and read their position.
• dropped the girls off at ashlens house tonight for her birthday party … a sleepover. i do hope they’re being good and getting along. lol! ady was taking a nap when i got there. jenn was going to wake her up … and i told her i would go get her up. ady looked at me kind of crazy … probably wondering what the heck i was doing in her bedroom. lol!
• joe cleaned the house for me today. one thing i have learned in the past year with this stupid chronic pain disease is that there are just some things i shouldn’t be doing. a few weeks ago i decided to mop the kitchen … wanted to do my share. good lord … i got about half way done and was flat on the couch. lol! joe has been great about taking over certain things for me. he does all the vaccuming, cleaning rugs, and mopping. and i never have to ask … he just does it every saturday. a lot of weeks he does the bathrooms for me too. i stick to the dusting, bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, etc. and all the picking up and organizing. i did do 4 loads of laundry today which seemed like a lot … not sure how we made that much.
• since i had some free time tonight … i decided to get out for a bit. i’ve been really couped up and admittedly going a little stir crazy here. so i went to the mall … i never go to the mall. lol! i was shopping for some jeans. have i ever told you how much i detest shopping for jeans? there are just so many different kinds … and fits … and washes. i did find a pair that fit pretty good … so i stuck with that brand and found a few more pairs. one of them is even a smaller size than i usually wear … probably just the cut … but still makes me feel good. lol! since i shop in juniors i’m used to the sizes being a little bigger … so i try not to feel bad. if i ever do go into womens i wear a totally different size (as in 2 whole sizes lower) … but they’re never as cute. anyways … tried them all on again when i got home … and i think 2 of them will work. the other 2 are going back. lol!
• i also found a couple of really cute hats. yeah … i’m back with the hats. as some of you know i started losing quite a bit of hair around a year ago … probably due to the stress with all the health problems. so for a few months i actually wore hats every day. the hair did eventually start to grow back and i had about 4-5 inches of new growth. some crazy, weird growth though. but the past 2 months or so … it’s been coming out in large amounts again. sad, i know. but the 2 hats i wore all the time last year … i’m kind of sick of them. i ended up coming across these really cute hats tonight at some small store. funky plaids with some great colors … and only $8. i was so excited and bought 4 of them. the one i was most excited about has brown, turquoise, and pink. but when i got home and tried them on … that one didn’t thrill me as much. lol! the fit seemed a little small … seems to make my head look too tiny. i don’t know … maybe it has to grow on me since the fit is a little different.
• when i was walking out of the mall tonight it was pretty late … about 8:00pm. i came out the wrong door so i had to a ways to walk to get to the van. and it was dark. and there weren’t too many people outside. then i started to hear music in the distance … the "phsyco" music. i kid you not … it was as if i was in some horror movie and this was the moment the killer was sneaking up on me. then i realized they put up a halloween "store" of some sort on the far end of the parking lot under tents. lol! i really thought i was losing it!
• my intention was to start on some scrappin assignments tonight while the girls were gone. doesn’t look good considering it is 11:00pm right now. lol! i am usually up till about 1:00am on the weekends … but not sure how much i’ll get done tonight.   

maybe if i got off the computer … i will get something done!
