you know how you go to a concert … and the entire world stops while you're inside? the excitement, the energy, the suspense of finally seeing what you've been waiting forever to see? it's larger than life … like you are in the show. and it's everything you thought it would be … and more. and you take in every single minute of it … hoping it will last forever. and when it comes to an end … you're sad. and all you want is to see it again … and again. when you leave … you replay it over and over in your head … wanting to remember every minute of it. and yet at the same time … it's all a blur … because it was all so good that it sort of meshed all together into one great moment. and you try everything to pick your favorite part … but they're all your favorite. you know this feeling? i've had this feeling many times after many great concerts. but this is the first time it's been after a movie!

tonight we finally went to see "high school musical 3"!!! you know i love "high school musical" movies … i watch them more than my girls do. and i could not wait for this to come out. but we were busy … and had to wait. let me say … it was totally worth the wait! such a great movie. awesome family movie … with a great message. just a feel good movie. just ask sasha … she said the exact same thing in her last blog post. lol! i loved all the music and dancing … and the choreography was amazing. and like sasha … i teared up a few times. twice to be exact. and i won't deny it. lol!

and here's the even better part. we saw this movie totally free! you read that right. we have a new theater opening here in town … and for an entire week they are showing screenings of the movies for free. to anyone and everyone. we got there and the line was super long … i'd say a good two hundred people just in line. so we got in line. but then some of the worker dudes were coming around asking if people were there to see certain movies. i waited about 5 minutes … and a dude came by asking for HSM3. just like that … i had 7 FREE tickets in my hand and we went straight in. awesome. then we walked right up to the counter … and got 7 FREE small popcorns … and 7 FREE small drinks. even awesomer. since this is all free to anyone and everyone … it was a very packed place. so we did end up in the 3rd row. lol! not easy on the neck. but when troy bolton's (zac efron) face popped on that screen the very first second, huge as life … it was so cool.

so now … after all this awesomeness … and this amazing movie … i'm trying to come back down to reality. lol! and it totally threw off my blogging plans for tonight. i had something else entirely to blog about. but the movie is the only thing on my mind right now. lol! so tomorrow … new layout and card … promise!

LOL Laura, you made me giggle! I read that whole first paragraph and thought you were going to talk about the election results, not HSM 🙂 Haha!

I thought you were going to talk abou the election results too! That was how I felt watching Obama win! I will have to watch those movies- I have never seen them. My kids are into the whole “growing up too fast” thing- does it deal with relationships, kissing, etc? If so, I don’t want them watching it with me!

I’m right there with you. I know this is terrible mothering, but my 7 year old LIVES for HSM, so I decided to wake her up at 11:30 p.m. so we could go to the first showing at midnight on opening day! It was the BEST! Can’t wait to take her back. (And don’t tell my husband, but I think that I’m more in love with Zac than my 7 year old now!!!)
    Happy Wednesday!

Laura you are so braver than I to go to the theater LOL. My girls went over the weekend and waited 7 hours to see their free movie but it is nice that you get the free popcorn and soda’s and even free refills.
I know how obsessed you are with High School Musical so I am even happier for you that is was all that and more!

so jealous Laura, makes me want to go right now! that just made me remember my dream…they were performing some kind of live show at a school, and we took Gulianna-when we got out of the car in the parking lot, “Sharpay, Gabriella and Troy” were parked next to us…Gulianna was so excited! I asked to get a picture with them, and they said they would do it right before the show, on stage, so I was trying to get to them, and then Zac was getting mad, because they were trying to start the show…I totally forgot about my dream until now… you know how that happens sometimes?! too funny!

Wow!! How cool was that? Free concessions too! Wow…what a memory. Are you gonna SB that?
I had something like that happen to me but a very long time ago. When 101 dalmatians came out with Glenn Close, I was so excited because I was into dalmatians back then. We got to see an early premiere, got these special passes to wear. So much fun.
I’m glad you got to go and see it. What perks though!

You are having a lucky streak lately Laura!! I can’t imagine what all that would have cost if you’d had to pay for it. My advice is to BUY A LOTTO TICKET while your streak is still hot!!

As I was reading this, I was totally thinking about when I saw HSM3 and then totally cracked up when I read that you were thinking the same thing. I totally love all the HSM movies. Watch them all the time and I don’t even have little girls. I have two little boys… One of my best friends and I saw HSM3 on opening day very early so we wouldn’t look like adult dorks in a kid movie. We had a blast and I so want to see it again……
