trying to catch up on my project 365. i got behind … in a big way. so if there is any way you can actually see my technical info on these pics … ignore when i actually took them. lol! i reworked them all to fit into the last 2 weeks … doing my best to get them all in the most accurate days. and please forgive the drab colors in my photos … my indoor shots are really killing me lately. here is week 9 and week 10 … 14 days worth. journaling short and sweet … since i have so many.

February_22_resize

day 53 … february 22nd. sunday is indoor soccer day … going on our 4th month and the girls are having lots of fun with it still. i so wish i had smell-o-screen … so you could get a whiff of the inside of these bags. cleats, shin guards, soccer socks. it's truely a smell that will knock you out. you can't appreciate just how bad it is until you have experienced it.

February_23_resize

day 54 … february 23rd. this is about the only time you'll ever see joe on the computer … when he's checking his umpiring schedule. i'm actually his secretary. i get the game assignments … and i accept them for him. i just sort of casually toss out "oh, you have a game tomorrow". lol! when he does the varsity games … he has to coordinate with the other umpire on the schedule as to what color they're wearing and who's doing the plate and the bases. some of the guys email .. and i just email back as if i'm joe. i thought it was funny today, when one of the guys replied back "thank you laura". guess they're on to me!

February_24_resize

day 55 … february 24th. just a small look at my unfinished projects. this basket holds mini albums that i have yet to finish. that yellow one on top is the album i did for the grandma's … the one i never finished sharing with you. lol! and the one underneath that is one that i offered to make for my brother a few months ago … about his first ever hole-in-one golf experience. eventually, i do get to these.

February_25_resize

day 56 … february 25th. taxes … so NOT fun. this pile sat on my kitchen counter for 2 months. all my paperwork and bills from 2008. all my daycare record-keeping. all my receipts from the entire year … since just about every one has something business related or deductible. and this pile sat untouched until a few days before my appointment. then i rushed like a crazy person to get it all ready. but february 25th was tax day for me … so glad this pile is gone.

February_26_resize

day 57 … february 26th. the girls hanging out and playing the keyboard. it was cute to see them sitting there together … usually they do it seperately. this is right outside their bathroom at the top of the stairs. and almost every time they walk by … they play something or hit a few buttons. and i think sarah looks adorable in these footed jammies she dug out of somewhere. lol! makes her look so little!

February_27_resize

day 58 … february 27th. the girls LOVE playing scene it. i think we have about 5 different versions of it. their favorite is nickelodeon channel … but my favorite is the newest disney channel one.

February_28_resize

day 59 … february 28th. alyssa participated in a "quizzing" event for awana's on saturday. i think there were 4 others in the group that went from the church … and they all competed with other churches. she does so good at this stuff … memorizing, remembering facts, knowing her stuff. although after the quizzing was game time … and she wasn't a part of the game team. so she got pretty bored just sitting there with her leaders … and ended up leaving early.

March_1_resize

day 60 … march 1st. i had taken sarah out to do a little photo shoot on saturday. i was so excited to get the photos edited … and even had some ordered and printed by sunday morning. by sunday afternoon (less than 24 hours after taking the pics) … i was almost done with a layout using a few of them. can't share yet … but aren't all these colors gorgeous!

March_2_resize

day 61 … march 2nd. what you'll find on our fridge door. 3 bottles of soda. the pepsi is for joe. the caffiene free diet pepsi is for me. and the sierra mist is for the girls. although they usually have dr pepper or root beer … they like those better.

March_3_resize

day 62 … march 3rd. shoes, shoes, and more shoes. this is the table by our front door. i knew exactly what i wanted … and had my mom built it for me so that it would fit the small space and fit the baskets. i love custom designing something to fit just what i need. and of course, love having a handy mom that can build my ideas. lol! these 6 baskets hold most of the girls shoes. lots of vans and converse going on in there. although we're finding that as their feet get bigger … we can't fit as many shoes in there!

March_4_resize

day 63 … march 4th. not a great shot. ever since painting her room, i'm finding it really hard to take any pictures in there. and she always has her curtains closed … which gives this weird blue tinge. but whatever … this is her on a typical day doing her homework after school. she had to make a comic strip this week … and was not enjoying it. in the end … it actually came out really good! and yes, that's her favorite hoodie … wears it ALL the time.

March_5_resize

day 64 … march 5th. just a shot of our mantel over the fireplace in the family room. a few candles … that have never been lit. in two of the candle holders, i have coffee beans inside … sort of for looks, but also great for whiffing. and those are fake lemons in the other vases. those green letters spell "US" … and are from making memories. i got so far as to paint them green … and never did anything else. and that photo frame … there's no picture in it. just the one of the fake people that comes in every frame. lol! and it's been up there for about 2 years like that. pathetic … i'm going to put something in there today. promise!

March_6_resize

day 65 … march 6th. doing a little "Wii'ing" after school. look at that concentration … they're really focused on their game. they were playing mario cart … one of their favorites on the Wii. i actually played right after taking these pics. but i stink … really, really stink. alyssa was appauled at how bad i was. "drive in the water so you go faster, don't drive in THAT water, run over people, now DON'T run over anyone, go up the ramp, not THAT ramp, press the "B" button to make sharp turns". no one even told me there was  a "B" button. lol! i told alyssa to take a picture of me playing … but she was too busy laughing her tush off to do it. lol!

March_7_resize

day 66 … march 7th. the girls participated in the grand prix for awana's at the church today. they each got a block of wood … and had to decide on a car design. luckily, they have a woodworking grammie to help with the making of the cars!  alyssa decided on a propel water bottle … and sarah went with a Wii remote. alyssa was in the adult age group. she placed 2nd place for design … coming in a second to papa, of all people! she came in 3rd for the overall racing. sarah was in the 3rd-6th grade girls group. her car put in a good effort … but unfortunately, didn't place. but papa was nice enough to share one of his trophies with her. lol!

Oh gosh… my husband plays ice hockey… I TOTALLY know what those backpacks smell like! I think a few of my nose hairs burned off just thinking about it!!! Haha!
And yeah… I had some frames on my kitchen window sill for months… with the lovely photo frame families displayed in them, too! 🙂 Finally put pics in them a couple weeks ago! 🙂

Hey there! I’m not sure what you were worried about – these look great! I laughed about the guy responding “thank you Laura.” D is so not computer savvy either. I had to tell him that you really are supposed to respond to email…it’s internet etiquette! LOL! Can’t wait to see your new layout…I spy some new MM goodies! And that pile of albums to be completed – oh Laura, please motivate me to finish my own pile of unfinished projects! LOL! And I second Deneen…great work keeping up with this Project 365!

Hey Laura! Awesome pics for project 365. I’m REALLY hoping I receive my kit soon, I had seen on Becky’s blog that they are shipping the b/o ones now, so hopefully I’ll get mine. I’m not as caught up as you however, but it will be fun to put it together. I took a picture of the kids new rubber boots, and of one tiny spot of grass in a yard full of snow the other day, YAY, spring might be on the horizon!! Also, loved your thanks card from the other post, very pretty! Can’t wait to see the layout with the MM goodies!! Have a great day!

You are so organized Laura! I’m enjoying seeing your photos for project 365 and reading about all the dailies that go with it. And I had to laugh about the frame with no real photo in it. I have so many of those. I love that shoe shelf that your mom built. Wow, she did a great job on that!

Wow good job on keeping up with your 365…I know quite a few people who started but could not keep up. You are ultra organized….awesome!
Love the peek of your new layout- the colors look so spring like.
…and reading about your kids soccer bags made me think of the stench that reeks from son’s ice hockey bag. If we do not open that baby up and let it air out after every game/ practice eeeewwwww yuck!

You inspire me SO MUCH Laura with your Project 365 — I get great ideas from you! I’m behind on my photos and of course have not put any in an album yet 😉 but I AM charging my point-and-shoot and am going to take enough photos this coming week to make up for the missed days!
Oh, and I totally know all about “that smell” — I have 3 boys! Ew!!! In fact, I have a big magnet on my fridge that says “BOYS ARE SMELLY” and thinking of their gym bags is where that originated!!
Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your photos. I’m really impressed with your mom’s woodworking abilities! No wonder YOU are so creative, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree!

I can’t remember if I’ve already commented, but I love seeing the pics of your family 🙂
I’m actually writing to ask a question. I was inspired by a previous project of yours (as you were inspired as well as Mary) where you put chipboard on an album cover and then painted it and pt glitter glaze over that.
Well, I did it, but I ran into a few snags. One, the glitter glaze didn’t seem to blend very well. First the glitter came out in a big glob and was very hard to spread and then it came out very smoothly, but the glitter was so thin that it required several coats to look half-way decent.
Then, I ran into the problem if it not drying very well. It’s been about a week and the paint still has a slightly gummy feel. Does that ever go away?
Lastly, when I had it lain down to paint the other side, a small dot of it stuck to the surface it was laying on. I thought it had dried. So, now I have it standing up so I don’t risk damaging it further, but I’m wondering if it’ll ever be safe.
So, that’s my long question. I hope you don’t mind taking the time to give me your opinion.
    Thank you!

I was wondering if you’d post last week’s pics…these are great! Laughed at the guy thanking you for Joe’s emails!! LOL! I think it’s great that you’re mom is so talented & can make what you need from your designs–the talent runs in the family!! These pics make me realize I need to get cracking on mine!

I loved feeted PJs … too bad they don’t make them in adult sizes (or do they).
I’m laughing about your picture frame with the “fake family.” I have a frame in my kitchen that Rob hung about a month ago. It holds two pictures … one frame is filled with a picture of us … the other still has the fake family.
I’m having a Wii MNO at my house on Friday. I can’t wait … should be lots of fun. I better practice since I haven’t been on Wii in a couple of weeks … don’t want to get my but kicked in bowling.

your so good at keeping up on those pictures. Love them all! Love the smell-o-screen comment – i’m glad i DON’t have that. LoL. And the mario kart one is great too – we are addicted to that game here – we use the numchucks with it though and steer with the thumb. I can’t drive it with the remote! We even took ours on vacation and played during our down time!
