please tell me you've been visiting the bella blvd blog each day this week. and tell me you'll visit it every day next week too. we just have SOOOOO much new stuff to share with you, i don't want you to miss anything 😉
designer tapes! how incredibly awesome are these! i have to admit, up until now, i have never tried using tapes. or washi tapes, as they're often called. i have a few rolls of tapes, but have never even though to use them. when stephanie finally shared some peeks of the new products with me, this was one of the ones i was most excited about. i love the colors and the designs. they have all my favorite colors, and i can see these working on any and all of my layouts. and once i tried using them, i was hooked!
this is my "focus on tapes" layout. there's some additional new products on there, that you'll learn more about next week. but my main goal on this layout, was to show off some ways to use the tapes. i choose this photo of my girls and my friend deneen's twins, that i took almost two years ago. i love the colors in it, and knew it would work well with the tapes.
this doesn't show any tapes, but a fun new chipboard piece that i pop dotted of my layout. i used some colored mini safety pins to add a few miniatures stickers.
one of my first ideas with the tapes was to tear off pieces, and create a frame around my photo. i know this isn't a new idea or anything. but i love how it looks.
the tapes are so easy to use, and are forgiving too. if you change your mind or need to move or adjust the tape, you can very easily remove it, and then stick it back down. i love that, since i do tend to change my mind a lot.
i also added some of the blue gingham tape behind my chipboard title letters. my letters already stood out on the graph patterned paper. but i think it just adds a fun little touch, when you add that little bit of interest behind the title.
the end of the tape was also perfect for helping secure my "life is good" flag. it wasn't planned. but i thought the flag would be cute up there, was needed somewhere to tuck it in. you can't have a flag just hanging out on it's own, right? i do have adhesive on the back of the flag, but it looks as if the tape is holding it down.
