I'm a little late sharing this, but last week over on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog, we were having a birthday celebration for their 7th birthday! A handful of the designers created projects to share throughout the week, and here's the cards that I contributed to the celebration.
I am constantly in need of birthday cards and yet they are the one type of card that I never seem to have on hand. I have used this same "award ribbon" style design for many other cards, such as baby cards, thinking of you cards, and even some coach's cards. I thought it would be the perfect design for birthday cards as well. I die cut the award ribbon pieces and "Happy Birthday" sentiment circle using my Silhouette Cameo.
Using a die cutting machine makes it really easy to cut duplicate pieces at once, which then makes it easy to mass produce a whole bunch of birthday cards at once. I added just a touch of machine stitching, and a simple star embellishment to the center of my sentiment. If you were wanting to mail your cards, I would suggest leaving off the star embellishment for easy mailing.
There have also been some fabulous giveaways going on over on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog, and you won't want to miss out on getting yourself entered for a chance to win. You have until April 4th to leave a comment on any of the birthday celebration giveaway posts, so you still have time to get entered.
