i was just getting the pictures of these cards ready to go … and noticed that both cards said "miss you". lol! i don't normally do "miss you" cards … so i thought it was funny that i put that on both of these. didn't even think about it when i did it. lol!

this one gives you a good idea of what my next layout will look like. both of these cards were done with scraps from another layout i did yesterday. but this one is the most similar. ahhhhh, the cuttlebug emossing folder … love it! this was the "bloom dots" folder … and i simply did it on white cardstock. the pattern paper is scenic route … i love the dot patterns. and i adhered the pattern paper pieces with pop dots … just to give some extra dimension. and the purple scalloped cardstock is the bazzill … i got quite a bit of use out of one sheet of it and i still have scraps left.

and how fun are the buttons? i saw that idea from a layout that robyn did … i tore that page out of the magazine right away because i wanted to remember to try it. she used puffy paint … and then stuck the buttons right on top. i have gobs of puffy paint laying around … although that green was a little off in color.

Missing_you_card

this one was fun to make. i actually cut out the circles from the white cardstock first (gotta love the classic creative memories circle cutter from back in the day … love that thing) … and then i put them in the embossing folder and ran them through the cuttlebug. the yellow glittered flower border strip is new making memories… from the "summer fun" collection that you can find at michaels. i hadn't even heard about them … and i can't find a link or preview anywhere … but i found them last weekend. the 12 inch borders are the funnest … i love paper strips like that … so easy to use! and those rhinestones are from the dollar section at michaels … thought i didn't buy a ton of those?!?! lol! there were tons in the pack (just counted for you and they have 48 in a single pack) and they already have adhesive on them. of course … that was a few months ago. so don't get mad at me if you can't find them. lol!

and to define the edges of the circles a little … i just outlined it with some puffy paint. of course … i can't get a perfectly straight line of paint if my life depended on it. which is why i purposely made it a little messy. i felt like it needed an extra color too. so i pulled out some flowers. the turquoise flowers are the older MM jumbo blossoms… and the purple flowers and the yellow buttons are from the MM funky buttons and blossoms box.  rubon sentiment also from MM …  i love using those on my cards.

so there you have it … the cards that came from the scraps of the layout that i'll show you next. i was going to show the layout first … but it needs journaling still. plus, i have to find the layout. i'm not sure what happened … but my desk is suddenly covered in product. i don't even know where to start to get myself organized again. lol!

Cute cards Laura! I’m so bad, I need to make cards after a LO like you do but I’m so DONE after making a LO that I don’t have the patience to do that!
Love the puffy paint technique, what a great idea! Really adds character and personality to the cards! TFS!
..and I have that embossing folder as well. Its probably my favorite. It kinda matches the Little Pieces stamps from SU.

I know exactly how you begin organizing…
    1. Gather product. (including clear buttons)
    2. put in box.
    3. Mail to Renee….
    4. Clean, happy, ready to scrap desk.

Great cards! Now I’m definately going to have to get some of those MM border strips! P.S. – for any one still looking for those $1 self adhesives – they had some in the “kids summer craft stuff section” in one of the isles – it had all the foam stuff and I bought a few more clear packs there along with several packs of different colors. So they are still available!

Love these cards too … I always love how you used thread to wrap around things and then tie it off in a knot or bow, it always looks so effective. 🙂
